The National Three Peaks · on foot, solo, self-supported

480 miles, three peaks, and not a single Uber.

I'm Ewan. Not a runner, and not built like one. Ben Nevis to Scafell Pike to Snowdon, solo, self-supported, walking every single mile in between (yes, all of them, no shortcuts). Along the way I'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The challenge

You might know the "Three Peaks Challenge" as something people do in 24 hours: Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, driving between them, summiting each once. This isn't that.

This is the same three peaks, but walking the entire distance between them too, solo, self-supported, fully on foot the whole way. No vehicles, public transport, or cycling at any point. I've given myself 17 days, assuming my feet cooperate.

480.8miles
~7,250metres of ascent
3countries
3national peaks

Ben Nevis (Scotland) → Scafell Pike (England) → Snowdon (Wales), walking the whole way between them, not just the summits.

I've never done anything like this before (no back-to-back ultra-distance days, nothing close), so the 17 days above is a genuine guess, not a target.

Where I am right now

Updates automatically from my satellite tracker. No phone signal needed, so this stays current even in the mountains. Nothing to see here until the challenge actually starts, but the box is ready and waiting.

Live map goes live once the tracker is activated and the challenge begins.

Follow along

I'll post updates when I can. Signal and energy permitting. Some days there might not be much to say beyond "still alive, feet still attached."

No updates posted yet. Check back once the challenge starts.

Why "Not Quite Forrest"?

Someone unlikely, not built for it, deciding to just start walking and not really stopping.
